F3 impression after 1st 1000miles

Current mileage on bike : 2085 (has 1070 when I got her) - I've had her 2 weeks tomorrow.

I'm very impressed. Now the suspension is pretty much sorted (preload was way too high for me as was compression and rebound on the rear) she rides and handles sweetly.

Went to the Lake District for tea tonight - tried sport mode for the first time. Much much smoother when "on it". I like the reduced engine breaking. Sport mode doesn't work well around town though - but switching is easy.

Bike is comfy (now the seat is sorted) and I can see me touring later in the year on her.

Things I've done to the bike: added heated grips, alarm; removed rear pegs.

I love the induction roar from under the tank.

Oh, and with sports mode - I'm sorry m'lud, but power wheelies are big and they are clever.

If you're thinking of buying an F3 - just buy the damn thing.

Take a chance while you still got the choice.

Hi Manic

If you like sports mode check out this thread on setting up the customer mapping.

When setup to your liking they are a truly magic machine

I cant get mine to work?

I start it, use the engine map to scroll down to custom and then hold set for 3-5 sec and nothing comes up?

What am I doing wrong here?

Refer to page 61 - 71 of the manual

If you don't have the manual Donsy has pinned it to the top of this section.

In the end I just pressed buttons and got it to work, I think?

forget 3-5 seconds, needs to be over 5 seconds for mine. Total pain in the arse when resetting the trip and completely unnecessary. Look like you've had a seizure in the petrol station as you're staring at the dash.

I count to 10 every time I reset the trip cause it always ensures it resets.

But yeah, the timing is a huge pain in the butt and isn't quite as accurate as one would like for getting things accomplished.

Try this:
Start the engine and let it idle.
Change the MAP to custom "C"
Turn the engine off
Turn the key back on then go through the manual setting procedure.
