F3 800 2015 spec clarification

Hi There I have recently picked up a 2015 F3 800. It was being used as a demonstrator. It was a bit of an impulse buy and whilst I love the bike. now I have spent some time on this forum is there a way to clarify a couple of things.
1. Does it have an immobiliser in the key the dealer told me yes but I have read on here that they don't it is a condition of my insurance that it has one.
2. When was the dash changed mine still has the old one.
3.Is there any way of telling from the VIN number if the new sprag clutch has been fitted and are these as fragile as I am lead to believe on here.

I know I should have carried out my research before buying but just want to know where I stand.

Mark

Also owning a 2015 F3 800....

1. Mine just has the wheel lock that you turn to the left while also turning the key to the left. If you mean an anti-theft device, i believe that is an add-on you can purchase separately.

2. I'd like to know this also...

3. I don't know, but I do know the spray tech bulletin only came out this summer so I believe ours has the old one. I'm keeping a close eye on mine and first problem I have with it starting it's going in for warranty work.

Well, Mark....welcome to the family.
Can't speak about the B3 knowledgeably. I believe all the European bikes have immobilizers. We don't get them here in the USA on many bikes (practically none of the Japanese brands, although they get them in the UK and EU).

There should be an indicator in your dash. Check in the owners manual.
You'll have to ask the MV dealer about affected serial number ranges for updated parts like the sprag clutch. I would expect it had all the latest updates if it was a demonstrator.

Enjoy the new ride.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

Indeed welcome!!

1. From what I understood no. Only the +2010 F4 has an immobilizer in the key.
2. Not sure, but I think if the bike actually produced from april 2015. Or maybe march...
3. I doubt if any were produced with the updated spragclutch and if so than not earlier than after summer this year...

What a beast of a motorcycle!
It growls and rages and flies across the tarmac like a wild animal that has escaped the confinement of a cage and after merely waiting restlessly until the release, will not endure being locked up ever again.

Skye I miss you. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.

No immobiliser. When I told the insurance they just said OK. No increase in premium. Sprag will be done as and when it fails. They're not done systematically. You know its Italian right?

Well I have been back to dealer and he has confirmed in writing that there is a factory fitted immobiliser. I was less convinced by there answers on the sprag as you said Jono only really replaced when they fail but it is covered by the warranty, fingers crossed I won't need it.
