Thanks Dwi and Andrew. It gets a bit harder each time as more "life experience" piles on! It's been about a week and I already feel more stable (physically, for clarification) and I have better control of my feet and legs. I think I had just tolerated the condition for so long I didn't really realize how bad it had gotten. I should be able to shift easily, with or without a four times broken left foot!

I'm taking no pain meds, no anti-inflammatories (those retard bone growth) and I'm walking with Trekking Poles to catch the wobble should one occur. (My own steering stabilizer.) I should be ready to roll come The Gap!

Chuck, if you don't mind me asking, how old are you now? Overweight? I am 36 and overweight at 5'8" 200, I don't look that fat due to big bones structures butnit only make it worse due to heavy bone structure and I have had this nagging back pain for more than 10 years. If I do nothing I am all good, but once I start working on my cars or bikes which requires some leaning, sitting on floor, etc for hours the pain will come. Sometimes if just some annoying pain I can deal without any meds but sometimes the pain can get severe making me can hardly walk.. So far I've been rellying to my Chiropractor a senior American chiropractor from Palmer institute of Chiropractor and he always able to fix me usually afyer third visit but I don't think this effective treatment can last.forever and I have to accept surgery... I have two dried up herniated nucleus between my lower spine....do you have the same problem?? I am so afraid to do the procedure and it cost an arm and leg here, about $30.000/herniated disk...

This is a topic for another thread, but I have a Degenerative condition known as Degenerative Disc Disease. My spine will continue to slowly collapse at an unpredictable rate. Each repair begets the need for the next as the chain of damage move up to the next stressed disc.

Overweight, yes. At 6'2" AND 255 USDA Grade A Choice pounds, I am overweight...by the standard. I am a big strong fella as those who know me can attest.

The spine causes me trouble every two or so years. We'll see how much time I get out of this repair.

Hey Chuck.. I don't want to detracted from this original Ducati upgrade thread, but I just quickly wanted to wish you a speedy ( or seedy, if you prefer ) recovery my friend..

I haven't been paying to much attention on the forum lately and only speed checking through some of the new post and missed the bit about your spine operation.. Sorry and get well soon Big Man...

As far as the weight issue is concerned, you should use my normal reply to the same question.. "No I'm not overweight, I'm just to short for my weight, but I'm working on it"..
