A track day is one of the most beneficial experiences you will ever have on your bike.

Thumbs up

Cool, I ride Lakeside all the time.

PM me if you would like to know more, or when you plan on going. I may just be able to join you.

I could be handy for some info on what you need, how they run the day, and basic riding tips on the day

Hi Lads,
I work at Ipswich and I am going for my first track day this Fri at Willowbank. I have had my F4 for 3 years but I am still a novice IMO. Is there anything I can do myself to prep the bike for a track day? Traction control setting? damper? I'm sure there must be some tips that I could learn?
Thanks

What mv do you have? Usually at most track days there are suspension guys there you can pay to set the bikes suspension up for you for your weight. This is a big item. But just remember to set the settings back to the street settings cause the track setting will be too stiff for road. Adjust the tyre pressures according to track tenp and weather and tyres. But most importantly for the first time enjoy rididing on the track concentrate on your lines your braking points and you will slowly become faster. Dont worry so much about your knee hitting the deck now just concentrate on being smooth on the throttle. Remember the fastest guy on the track is the one who can keep the throttle open longer. But dont worry too much about that lol. Enjoy.

Hey Rob, hope you enjoyed your track day and that you had the chance to be smooth on the throttle and managed to follow those lines and braking points better.

Same for MV Walshy! But being your first track day, I´m sure it scared you like hell !...That happened to me on my first (and only one ) track day - it definitly helps if you have someone to give you some tips and helped swetting your bike for the track, which is something I didn´t. But the experience is awsome, and from that day your only thought is going to get there again! Right?

I went to a track day up here in Mareeba on the F3 800 and while the track probably was not suitable for bigger bikes, it was more beneficial than you could possibly imagine. In the space of 3 sessions, the bike works better than it ever has due to suspension and tyre pressure tweaks. And i came away a much better rider with a better appreciation of what that bike is capable of.
