Current generation F1 race cars would not be very appealing to the average ultra rich car guy for one simple reason. What the devil would you do with it? Not withstanding the fact that this car doesn't even have an engine, how would you enjoy your new toy, even if it did? Commissioning one of these cars for a vintage race would require a crew of 20 (?) just to prep/supervise the vehicle. Finally, if your name isn't Alonso, how would you approach this car's capability?

Other than a historical piece of automotive racing art, this car is of no value.

Comments?

910R, S4RS Monster,'78 BMW R100S, Heritage Softail, Chrome V-Rod, Sportster 48, Kawasaki Concours 1400, '07 Ultra Classic with sidecar, yellow Vespa LX 150, a cool little Ruckus, and a very understanding wife........

Turn it into a giant controller for my XBox. You know how awesome it would be to play Forza 5 from the driver's seat of that thing?

Or put a new supercharged Ford 'Coyote' 5.0 in it and confuse the hell out of everyone on the track.

Turn it into the ultimate kids pedal car

Even with an engine I don't think anyone could seriously comprehend owning this with the intension of driving it unless they were a ex F1 driver, joe public just doesn't have the mental comprehension of how fast you need to drive these things just to get sufficient heat into the brakes and tyres for them to even start working?

That's why at events like Goodwood the owners don't race them up the hill, the likes of Jenson Button do. If anyone is interested in this it will probably be a Motorsport museum?

Interested in anything that Sucks, Bangs and Blows!

Your absolutely right Randy, hence why this car is only £75K.. It probably would make a good PR display vehicle or a simulator rig for a driver testing program..

£75K doesn’t buy you much for your money in the F1 world.. I'd bet that 99% of the carbon suspension parts on this car have been changed for aluminium Hyrdrographic dipped components and aren't the original F1 factory parts..

Thats some good points randy. But whoever can afford say a real one has probably more money than we could imagine so they could have the possibility of having the crew and support. Im sure i saw somewhere you could buy an ex renault f1 car and the engineers and crew bring it to the track set it up get you going at the endof the day they pack the car up and take it back with them so you dont actually garage it they keep it garaged. Im sure it was a recent model was the black and gold combination they are using now but not sure what year. I cant remember how much exactly it was but a couple of million british pounds to own it and have the support. If i had the money i wouldnt go hell for leather in it why not your a billionaire its chump change haha

It's an easy way to make the news, get it on the highway and cross a few state lines

Speed is relative, but fast is fast.
