Hope it went to a good home.

In the time between then and now I did indeed retire!! And have just begun the RD350 project (after completing many more pressing projects).

Since I am no longer "on the road", eating in restaurants and sitting on my arse most of the day, I find I have LOST weight, not gained as you predicted. Now down to proper fighting weight (only 20 pounds more than when I was racing on my 20's !!!)

You got your hand full there Ed. I've always fancied an RD 400 Daytona Special, but all the ones that come up in the UK are rust buckets .

I didn't ever advertise the DT400MX ( apart from on here ) as didn't really want to sell the bike.

However, someone contacted me because they heard I had this DT400 and came round today and said he'll have it for his 2 stroke collection.

We're retiring in April 2021 and my bike collection has to be thinned out. I don't ride much at the moment and both my knees are shot to bits, so kick starting bikes is out of the question.

I'll keep some four stroke bikes with electric start, as I haven't quite reached the stage when I'm not going to ride bikes anymore.

So the next bikes to come up for sale will be my TT500C and my PE400.

About putting on weight, don't go there Ed.. I've put on so much weight that some of my jackets don't fit me anymore. I've got to do something about my weight gain, but I like food and life too much , so its going to be a mammoth battle to loose weight.

Good luck with the RD restoration Ed and look forward to seeing the Phoenix rising from the ashes.

Cheers
J

Oh my days, that 400B is a beauty! But, so is the TT500!! Never had, but always wanted a Yamaha 500 of the XT series, and the TT tops my charts! Although it sort of defeats the object, but does the TT have a charging system that would support lights?

Very, very nice Nigel. Reminds me of Fast Freddie back in the day.

As a Honda fan, you need to add a NSR250 SP and one of my favourite Honda's a CBR250

^^

What the heck is that red thing? Looks like a highly-modded C77 of about 1966 - 67.
