Time for mandatory sterilization (neutering?) of all peoples of the world who have genetic diseases, low IQ or are just not up to standards.....(my standards, why would you ask?)

And stop medical science from finding ways to keep alive those that cannot survive without extraordinary medical intervention, and hence a continuing drain on society.

And allow those horrid diseases like Ebola in Africa to do their thing and help control population growth.

The Chinese had the right idea....one child per family, period.

And the USA needs to get out of this policeman peace keeper of the world thing and instead make some bucks supplying all sides with our expensive high tech weapons so they can more efficiently kill themselves off more quickly....

More disease and pestilence, less scientific and medical intervention.......that's what the world needs. It's not "Climate Change" it's disgenetics that is destroying our planet.

You know I am just kidding.....right??? Or, then again......

Ahhhh, nothing will change. We are doomed,.....think I'll go for a ride and burn up some hydrocarbons. Got to do my part to keep the planet changing.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

Oh, c'mon. You know what I'm getting at. How do you allow every person the right to life but save the planet at the same time? I'm definitely not smart enough to figure that one out, but it's something that does need to be figured out. Sure, we could go on and on about the energy debate, but that's only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to true global stability. The more it's ignored, the worse everything gets.

And for the record, I somewhat agree with China's idea. Wtf is the point of having eleventeen little chitlins runnin around with the hopes that one will become successful? That type of thinking can (and usually does) become yet another burden on the tax system. Then there are more complaints about taxes. It's a never ending cycle of people complaining and only making the problem worse.

Prove me wrong.

J-Spec, I could get into a conversation about eugenics, forced sterilizations, one child (or less) per family, but that conversation would, I expect, get nastier that the one the Teathugs think they are having about climate. So... No.

I expect Ebola or the flu or just lack of water or somebody with a bomb they stole from Pakistan will cause a sudden and precipitous drop in population in my lifetime anyway.

THis morning: "GM says ignition switch linked to recall made in China".

Trying to shift the blame, GM? Doesn't matter where the part was made, it was your job to make sure the part met spec.

It's hard to be afraid of people you are laughing at.

As long as it remains civil, I'm always down for a good discussion. I'm sure you remember the skit about the smart couple waiting to have kids and the dumb couple having multiple kids, and so on and so fourth. I'll try to find the clip.

Intelligent people used to be able to have a good argument and then go off and shoot each other at thirty paces with large-caliber pistols for honor. Ah, the good old days when they used to make things to last, yes?

Being intelligent is, in great part, simply having the opportunity and willingness to absorb available information. I am truly pleased that my parents. while sending us to a Christian school, did not restrict our summer reading to the New Testament (KJV), but took us to the library every week to read whatever we wanted. Many people with brains seem stupid simply because their on-board database is limited, or perhaps, they have a vested interest in the status quo and are fearful of change.

You ever see, "Jaws"?

Mrs. Kintner: Chief Brody?
Brody: Yes?
[Mrs. Kintner slaps Brody and sobs]
Mrs. Kintner: I just found out, that a girl got killed here last week, and you knew it! You knew there was a shark out there! You knew it was dangerous! But you let people go swimming anyway? You knew all those things! But still my boy is dead now. And there's nothing you can do about it. My boy is dead. I wanted you to know that.
[Mrs. Kintner walks away]
Mayor Vaughn: I'm sorry, Martin. She's wrong.
Brody: No, she's not.

There's going to be a lot of people apologizing to mothers this century, like old CAG there upthread, when the water comes visiting.

Sorry. No. You, like many, confuse intelligence with knowledge. For example, someone who does exceptionally well on the game show Jeopardy isn't necessarily intelligent, as the show is based on knowledge.

Knowing lots of stuff doesn't make one intelligent.
