It's a sad story for all involved at Ducati, especially the riders! The Desmo obviously needs to be taken by the horns and bossed about with an aggressive riding style.. I think Cal is currently the best exponent of that 'loose and furious' style that Casey used to master it! Let's hope it doesn't become his career graveyard..

What a shocking choice by Dorna to ditch Laguna Seca! Indianapolis should go, it's a terrible circuit..

$$$$$$$$$$ rules. Indy and Austin pay more than Laguna Seca.

New Aprilia Man joins Ducati

.

Is it too late to make the 2014 bike competitive, Honda & Yamaha have already tested theirs in public with (unsurprisingly) positive comments, but no sign of anything at Ducati yet.

Have they been wasting time on the 2013 bike or already focused on 2014 bike, which'd make more sense

I think I saw an interview with Rossi and he said something along the lines that the engineers at Ducati were not receptive to criticism, constructive or otherwise.

This just goes to support that.

Don't make excuses, Make it happen

Spartukus I have great admiration for small factories trying to field a competitive race bike against the likes of the Japanese conglomerates (have nothing against Japanese manufacturers )
But I am disappointed in Ducati for pulling the Carbon Fiber Monoque design and using the Lame excuse that the use of a control tire made it impossible for the Carbon Fiber chassis to work correctly.
The basis for the use of a Carbon fiber Monoque chassis is that the carbon material in itself has inherent adjustability factors. But to get the correct balance Ducati will have to test many different chassis designs before getting it right. Once the Balance is found Ducati would leap frog over the competition.(Race Engine Technology magazine UK may 2009? issue.)
Now Ducati is starting at step one with Twin Spar Aluminum chassis design and playing catch up.(Ducati went from Trellis to Carbon ,skipping Aluminum Spar chassis) Hopefully AUDI, who has been working with Carbon chassis for many years , will step up and commit to the research needed to complete the Carbon Monoque chassis. As of June 15th? 2013 the New CEO said the Carbon and Traditional Aluminum twin Spar Chassis designs are both being developed. Pick one , as doing both gets nothing accomplished . At least Ducati MotoGP bike has the most horsepower on the grid. Although at this point the chassis lack of grip coming off the corners kills any horsepower advantage of the Ducati.
Comparing the Ducati to the Honda and Yamaha both pull away from the Ducati coming off corners , then when the Ducati finally hooks up it closes in on the Honda/Yamahas. Unfortunately the loss off the corners is to great to make up down the straits . Having the best trap speeds is worthless if you cant use the speed to pass .
