KTM successful in 2019 before a wheel has turned

I have been following Road racing since the late 70s and Motorcycle road racing has never been so popular in the USA. IMO the reason is the amount of manufactures involved has brought fans with them. Motorcyclists are by nature tech heads and love to see many brands with many different types of tech competing against one another. KTM has benifited from tech head interest as there set up is so different than the res of the MotoGP fields Bikes. It seems for every motoGP news article there is a KTM update or explination of the KTM outside the box technology. KTM has gotten almost as much attention being different than Honda gets winning the MotoGP championship. Not many people think KTM will ever make a competitive Steel trellis chassis MotoGP bike but being the ultimate goal is advertising the brand, they are already winning .

WHATS YOUR OPINION? do you think KTM will ever sort out the Steel Trellis Chassis improve power to have a great handling MotoGP capable to strait out win motoGP races maybe in contention for the MotoGP title?

Who can really tell Jake? They are confident they can do it in steel.
All I can say is that I believe in the dynamism of KTM, their passion.

Pol Espargaro seems very happy with the 2019 bike:

NESCA I agree with you 110%, Love KTM/German tenacity and will to win. IMO the Japanese have tenacity but the will to win is a bit lacking . years ago Honda had the will to win as MR HONDA was a hardened race fan who spent at least 1-2 hours a day every day at HRC. The Steel Trellis chassis in MotoGP racing is an odd one . At the start of moto2 (which was supposed to be a test bed for new chassis development ) teams tried and failed with the Steel Trelis chassis and Chassis engineers prounced the Steel trellis chassis past its time and DEAD. In WSBK Ducati stated the steel trellis chassis could not handle the Horsepower of the Modern WSBK . Ducati designed there Monoque chassis and pronounced the Steel trellis chassis Dead. Then what happens ? there is a resurgence of the Steel trellis chassis ???? We are talking about chassis engineering and Physics? its cut and dry science no such thing as a resurgence ??? YETIT HAPPENED KTM is Successful in Moto3 and Moto 2 with a steel trellis chassis and MV AGUSTA designs the best handling bike in WSBK ( Motocourse, SUPERBIKE REVIEW AND RACE ENGINE TECHNOLOGY) I AM thinking like an engineer older tech doesn't improve its competition must have handling problems. KTM and MV AGUSTA bringing there ..A.. game and competition have been concerning themselves on Horsepower (example ..Honda in MotoGP Ducati in WSBK) and dropping the ball in chassis design.

FYI .. I am going back to read text again but I do believe we have a new member who is a OHLINS suspension engineer. GREAT news and a much WELCOMED addition on the site.
