F1 shocks!

Alonso is retiring at the end of the 2018 season, and Ricciardo is off to Renault TBH though, I don't know how Alonso has tolerated McLarens lack of competativness for so long! Ricciardo has obviously had enough of Verstappen.

Old news.

But yeah, fkn finally! Alonso is and always will be a nasty driver and a person with a ego way above his head.
He's a former champion and he's quick, but he's a whiny and dirty driver and I dont like the man.

The way he talked about Honda and still has the nerves to try and get a Red Bull seat.. pff pathetic little man. Very glad Red Bull slammed their door right in his face. ("Alonso brings chaos to the team, and we dont want that" - red bull)
You can talk sh1t all you want about Honda, but as soon as they left Mclaren and they could build an engine to their size and not Mclarens bodywork, reliabilty and power increased by the weekend.

As for Ricciardo saying he's up to a new challange... not so sure. Verstappen is the quicker one, younger and Red Bull is putting their money on him and Ricciardo doesnt want to be a 2nd driver.
Gastly isn't quick enough in my opinion to defeat Verstappen next year. I love a good battle but I dont see that happening. (hope I am wrong)

Oh and Alonso sticking at Mclaren for 4 years....woudn't you if you got payed 30 million a year??? I would

That's MORE than a 'challenge' for Ricciardo. With Renault in 4th place in the Constructors' and 140-plus points behind Red Bull, we'll see the start of the downward spiral for Daniel. Granted, he can be a talented driver, but talent alone will not help Renault!

Just as talent didn't help McLaren! It's looking like Ricciardo is going to be another Webber! Unfortunately.

Honestly, I dont see Renault becoming a top 3 team anytime soon with that Power Unit.
Mercedes and Ferrari are currently way ahead, and I seriously believe Honda will pass them at beginning of 2019 season.

So for Daniel to get in the Renault, is pretty much him signing a contract with only large amounts of money being paid to him. And he knows that he cant beat Verstappen let alone Mercedes or Ferrari so he just goes for the cash.

Very good driver, the way his career went wasnt the right one to become a F1 champion.
