12 years! Yep 12 years and no title wtf

Am I missing something..... how is it Dani Pedrosa has been on a factory Repsol Honda for 12 years and not 1 title, and is still with them?

I am starting to think he made have incriminating photos of Mr Honda, cos not 1 title and he is still there.

What am i mising?

Haha because he plays a great second fiddle. And they hire him on the cheap! He rarely even competes for podiums the last few years.

I suspect it is something to do with him being Spanish and the deal with Repsol. It would not be inconceivable that Repsol would offer Honda bucketloads of money under the proviso that a Spanish rider maintains a seat. (This theory is flawed though, if we look back to the Rossi/Stoner era)

anothermvfanatic's question is justified in light of many of Pedrosa's 'tail-end' and out-of-the-points finishes. So yes, he's not exactly providing any competition within the garage - unlike Vinales/Rossi and Ianone/Rins. It IS time to move him on. I would favour Zarco because of his consistency, but Crutchlow is all about telling everyone that only HE can ride the bike so is therefore the most deserved. No way!

As a bit of a curve ball - it would not be unreasonable to put Alex Marquez on it next year.

Poor Dani... he gets no respect. He plods on with no complaints or public displays of petulance or arrogance....Gets points almost every race, normally in the top 10. Would be better than 11th in total points this year had he not fallen off in Argentina.

I suspect he is a very good development rider. Suspect he is well liked and respected by the Honda staff ....and probably owns a large amount of Respsol stock !!!

Plus no fear of him upstaging MM93.

Let's cut him some slack....at least he is better than Abraham (and a few others out there filling the grid).

And to come back 2 weeks after surgery on his wrist and still go fast !!! I'll bet the pain kept him from scoring higher.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

There is simply no other better rider out there on the MotoGp grid that does not ride a major factory bike. Plus he can still win GP's on sunny days. Unlike others that the adverse weather allows wins because the factory teams got it wrong.

His luck has not matched his talent in the big class. This is a rider who has won multi world championships.

Give the guy the respect he deserves. I wish I had just a part of his talent.

I think he is just a development rider for MM now.

I think they're basically waiting now for Alex marquez to join in and replace Dani.

Lets be honest, Dani hasnt performed good in last 3-5 years or even more. Yes he fought with Lorenzo for the championship years and years ago. But that was the only competition he had since Rossi was at ducati back then.

*Although he had a masterclass at Misano in 2016. Killer performance. But thats just a race, and not a complete season.
