Whats with BMW s1000RR RACE?

Who is running BMWs Marketing department? They come out being the 1st company to produce a bike that defeats the Japanese and are on top for years. They go racing do well considering bad choices in riders. They pout like a spoiled kid and pull out looking like an inferior product with no chance of being competitive . NOW they develop ground breaking tech with first all carbon fiber chassis call they bike the BMW S1000RR Race . BUT THEY STILL WONT RACE IN WSBK? is there ground breaking carbon fiber tech chassis a scam? It better not be with a 79,000$ price tag. There is an old saying ... You can get away with saying your the toughest guy in the neighborhood but eventually someone is going to make you prove it . The BMW S1000RR is a great bike but you cant sell bikes saying your the best off of a 10year old reputation

It's been proven in the past that a CF chassis in motorcycle racing isn't worth the effort. I'm not an engineer but if it was any good all the motogp teams would be doing it me thinks.

Bimota SB8R was the first road bike wth carbon fiber used in chassis - that was in 1999 or thereabouts

It was half carbon, half aluminum if I remember correctly but still beautiful nevertheless.

I thought it was called the HP4 Race?

Even before you look at the carbon just look at the components it has on it, the forks alone cost more than some bikes. I think it is beautiful bike from an engineering perspective as it is littered with top components. If you add them up separately it actually looks good value.

Audible traction control is also pretty cool, just watch the videos of it.

if you want the best pre-made track bike then it is up there with the best and to make it yourself would cost you alot more.
Certainly would be part of my dream garage....with the SB8R

Well....a BMW won the "Stock" class yesterday at the Road Atlanta MotoAmerica round. That's the old "Super Stock" class that ran concurrent with the Superbikes last year.

But is wasn't a HP4... just a standard model with legal mods. In the Superbike class the sole BMW finished well down field.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.
