Shit result for Leon in race 1. But worse for Melandri. Snooze fest pretty much...

Yeah what was this in Race 1?
A B spec engine in the F4 to last the whole weekend for a change?
Leon's mindset already at the Honda garage?
Motivation at Reparto Corse tanking?
The breathtaking Rodeo Show at the Start didn't help either.
Sure worst for Marco, but MV Agusta Fans know such feelings too well.
The F3 Squad, of three bikes remaining on the grid, did pretty good so far.
What exactly happened to Sofuoglu?

In quailfying in the last round he had a big high side and broke his hip in three places.

Not bad for PJ! But how about that R6. Yamaha wins constructors championship in its first year. Will likely win riders championship too. Very impressive. Definitely a wknd to forget for the MV superbike squad. I think Leon has a foot out the door.

Leon's foot and the rest of his body is already out the door. On it's way to Red Bull Honda. He rode like he just wanted this season to end...

Rumors of PJ leaving MV too. Might be going back to Honda. Sucks but he is such a good rider and he needs a stronger bike. Hopefully he stays for another season. The F3 might not be crippled as much next season with the rule changes...

One would think MV turned down the wick on this weekends bike just so it wouldn't break. If so it worked...but may as well have broken down. Zero race pace. I have no idea what they're going to do moving forward. 2018 promises to be very interesting.

Impressive? Emblematic when the camera cut to 'Yamaha Factory Project' pits after R6 won; a f***ing sea of blue-suited figures. Take a freshly updated model that dovetails snugly with new supersport rules, combine it with a mountain of money and and what do you get? Well, for one, you get to cherry-pick top personel, like team GRT, the small but impressive Italian effort which last year showed such promise preparing an MV for Gino Rea. Or say a great racing engineer like the genial, pony-tailed dude who we used to see at Cluzel's side in the reparto corse pits, now flanking race Yamaha winner Caricasulo.

On the other hand, I have to admit that after PJ, I'm cheering for Lucas Mahia, such a great old-school rider with tons of heart.

By the way, just to pass along to all fellow MV fans, here are some (very much unconfirmed) rumors about the brand's racing plans:

Next year one bike in Superbike, rider Jordi Torres
Reparto Corse will let team Vamag (currently doing well with Zanetti) take over the Supersport effort.
MV are looking at entering Moto2 (will this coincide with 3 cylinder triumph engine supply?)
