danni pedrosa

Just wanted to get peeps opinion on this. Not wanting to start a shit fest or anything, cos heck a one legged cat is a better rider than me.

Danni Pedrosa has been on a Honda factory bike for over ten years and hasn't won a title in motogp.
Yes i know he is a world champion in 250 and 125 classes
Yes i know he is very talented
Yes i know he has won quite a few races in motogp

But does he and has he really deserved the factory bike for that long. I mean it really is a very long time.
Is it politics, is cos he is a Spanish and Repsol is too.

There is literally four bikes out there most of the time, obviously not now with Ducati but not for many years it was only the top four, two Yamahas and two Hondas. And for over 10 years Danni has had one of those factory Hondas.
Again, does he and has he really deserved this

Guys im just curious, so no ripping my head off hey lol

Needs pensioning off.

I agree with everything that you say. There are two major issues with Dani: 1) he is too small and too weak to get the best from a Moto GP bike,
2) he gets injured more often, and is out of action for longer; see point 1.

However, he is Spanish, (and a great racer on a lighter, less powerful bike), but he is also not very modern media friendly, he comes across as a bit grim.

It's a definite maybe.

I have wondered this for years as well, it has to be political intervention - I mean why would any main sponsor pay him god knows how many millions per year for so long with no real payback?

Simplistic view but with the new crop of riders emerging it begs the question

I have wondered that as well,,,, Which from all i have read in the past it is his ties to Repsol & being Spainish. I am not sure why he has not been dumped as Marquez is Spainish and a winner on the Honda. Before that Pedrosa was the mainstay fast but not going to win the title Spainish rider/face.

It would not surprise me if Pedrosa was bumped for Lorenzo after 2018 season (barring Lorenzo winning some races). Or Lorenzo will be back at Yamaha once Rossi retires,

I do not think Pedrosas size is the problem, as Marquez is also tiny.

It's been something I've wondered all these years too, ie why Pedrosa has always ridden a Honda. Surely that has got to work against him because Honda can't always have the best bike, though having said this, Honda has won a few constructors championship since 06 when Pedrosa started in MotoGP so I guess they must think he is a good team player.

He works cheap. For all we know his own sponsors pay his salary therefor Honda gets a solid #2 for nothing. But I agree it's time for him to go. Several better riders that deserve that seat.
