Is BMW Racing the Carbon Chassis S1000RR in WSBK 2017?

BMW has a limited edition ..Carbon Fiber?... chassis S1000RR for 2017. First off How can the Chassis be carbon Fiber and have the same shape/dimensions? Looks like when they coat aluminum with carbon.
Anyone know how serious BMWs effort will be in 2017?

It's 100% real carbon fiber. Not coated aluminium. BMW has been perfecting this for years now. Different thicknesses in different points on the frame give it the flexibility it needs to function. Will they race with it? Only time will tell.

Swiss easier said than done . An autos stress points come at primarily 8 directions , the 4 sides and 4 corners. Now a motorcycle chassis has force coming at it from countless angles. Even after the Ducati was sold an Audi/VW group board member stated they where continuing research on a carbon fiber Motogp chassis. if/when someone figures out how to make a carbon chassis that has strength at all the needed angles, that manufacturer would leapfrog the other factories. IMHO if anyone can do it BMW or the VW group would be most likely to succeed.

The bike isn't going into production until the second half of 2017 so can't race in the 2017 season. It may be able to run in 2018 but BMW might make this a track only model and that would mean it wouldn't be eligible for WSBK.

Being the ad campaign touts ground braking technology not to mention the bike being called the S1000RR RACE. I would think they painted themselves in a corner and will have to enter WSBK. What would it look like if KTM with there company slogan... Ready to Race .... didn't compete on any world stage?

Silent ,KTM slogan is ready to race. KTM is racing .
the BMW model name is RACE. IMHO when the manufacturer names its Flagship Superbike ...RACE.. it implies that the manufacturer competes the RACE model .
I heard an announcer of F! race say BMW was getting in F1. Maybe BMW figures kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
use the F1 tech on WSBK?
When BMW had a factory race team every motorcyclist knew about the BMW s1000rr. After they stopped racing in WSBK the S1000RR seemed to fade away from peoples interest .

FYI... Comparing the aluminum and carbon fiber chassis on the BMW s1000RR. THEY ARE BOTH THE SAME SHAPE. SO either BMW coated the aluminum chassis OR BMW is telling the truth and in fact there new S1000RR RACE model has a all carbon fiber chassis . If all carbon fiber the S1000RR RACE will have weak spots an more than likely crack/break .....JUST EXCHANGING ALUMINUM FOR CARBON FIBER IS NOT THE WAY CHASSIS ENGINEERING WORKS. If that was the case Ducati would have had major advantage in MotoGP back in 2009.
