I don't know what to say or think, looks like both Ducati teams make some amazing (weird) decisions.

All about the money Donsy. It is believed that Melandri is not only bringing sponsors money with him he is also riding without getting a salary.

is that normal to ride without a salary for someone like Melandri

Ive heard that moto2 and 3 riders do and some actually pay for the ride, but Melandri hmmm, very interesting

It about seems like they needed to axe Davide so they could cover the -Probably enormous- cost of Lorenzo in GP...

I feel they're going to regret their decision

If he is bring sponsors money with him then maybe they are paying his salary rather than Ducati?

It's not like he's doing much else at the moment, if he's racing, he's wearing kit, and that kit has logo's on it for which he will get paid

Interested in anything that Sucks, Bangs and Blows!

I agree with Vapor. You Could see Melandris age catching up with him at the end of his time with Aprilia(consistency was off along with timing he started to over shoot a lot of corners)
( and I was one of the people who said Rossi was still as good as ever when a lot of people where writing him off as too old.) Father time gets us all eventually , but Melandri has many years experience and could be valuable as development rider.
ALSO Guigliano never seemed to be the same after breaking his spine. ( I have empathy, My spine is completely shot/inoperable, can only walk 50 ft roughly) He even looked heavier, most likely due to inability to train or train as hard at least.
So from Ducatis perspective , they get a experienced development rider that brings in sponsorship as second rider . Then they have Davies as there number 1 rider for speed and winning races.
Are there any other ...Fast... riders even available next year ?
