Motegi MotoGP - My trip.... (pics) *spoiler-ish*

So folks, not sure where this goes, its a mix of media, touring, and motoGP.

I led a group of mostly work peeps. Spent the night in Nikko as per last year, then made the 3 hour trek to Motegi on Sunday morning. Sporting Ducati Supporter Tix we could park on the track...which is way cool.

This was not an uneventful trip, sadly. And that doesn't count the shit weather on Sunday morning (pouring rain).

Here we are:

After that we had lunch, shortly after my friend (lead man, fast rider) who helped me out at motegi last weekend went down in gravel on a turn on his rental 749R. oops. He's Ok, bit bruised, that's it.

really not where you want to see a bike.

A nice car stopped (with a whole family, baby, grandma) and we used their car jack to life the guardrail a bit to pull out the bike....

Sporting mvagusta.net gear....

A Yellow One!

I was late, as usual, so parked on the end again....

I recognize that bike!

yup, J_Spec & me.

NGK girls always draw a crowd.

crazy ducati crowd....

Podium! Well done for capirossi, saw him win it last year as well. Cool for Kawasaki too! The dude was psyched when he got 2nd. First podium for Kwak?

Thumbs up

WOW Colin,that is incredible.

First to know that your mate is ok after that nasty lowside.

Secondly to see how huge j_spec is OR how small you are???

Thirdly where you got your pics, right out in front of the podium.

Bad weather or not, that looks GREAT mate!

Looks like a good time for all!

I hope your buddy is alright, how did the rental people take the spill?

dang dude! nice pics! i've gotta get a little point and shoot camera. mine is just too big for most occasions. lol. and yeah, you were't kidding about that Duc! i imagined a much worse situation, i'm glad he made it out ok, tho! oh, i was so sad when i saw my bike all covered in water. that day was only the second time i had ever let water touch it! lol! that seat wasn't the funnest for about a half hour. it was soaked. ugh.

Ozboy: lol! i'm really not that huge. i was closer to the camera. i am about 6' 4" tall and 225 lbs, tho.

my take on the race: Capirossi won by default. if Rossi didn't pull in because his second bike was having issues (they switched bikes mid-race. one had rain tires and the other had slicks), he would have won. i left early because i knew Capirossi was going to win. he was like 16 seconds ahead! i was laughing when Stoner was passed by 3 people earlier in the race, tho. and i was sad when Pedrosa fell. he was doing pretty damn good. meh. oh well. lol.

Thank You Colin for Your Report and Pic's. Sadly You Guys were not so fortunate. Bad weather, a crash and the prospects of paying Bike Rent for a few weeks. But You was spectator at a historic event. I was with Martin, Mika and Ulla in Berlin. And guess we had sunshine.

here are a few of my pics. enjoy.

all but the last pic are of the 125cc Class. once the 250cc and Moto GP Classes hit the grid, there were so many flags waiving, i couldn't get a clean shot. i'm lucky i got the couple shots i did.
