Confusion on which Boots

Hello Everyone,
I am about to invest some of my hard earned money on boots. These are going to be my first and I donít have much experience and have narrowed down on these 2 boots. I would like to know your input on which are better and why? any help from your ends would be highly appreciated.[/font]

No confusion here. SIDI's are the BEST!

I have the SIDI Vortice and they ROCK!

Cheers, Simon

Both are great....SIDI's do "squeek" when you walk in them though. Go try both on, pick the ones that feel the best on your foot.

The SMX boot you show there is the perferated one.....that's definately a summer/race boot only.

Have to dissagree, i have the TCX boots one model lower than Troy Bayliss and they are the nuts, I have had Sidi and they were great but are made for narrow feet, i have fairly wide feet so the TCX were great, put them on in the shop and walked arouond for 20 mins forgot i had them on. Can wear them all day, i hope i dont have put them through their paces though!!

I use TCX now, have used Alpine before, tried the older Sidi model and found it narrow. STG.com do a very wide range of tests and comparisons. Their prices are good too, bought my TCX from Bikebiz in Australia, grreat service too. If possible fit them all first, and check out the Video clips on STG.com, it helps with sizing Sarge.

I have two pairs

Agree with everyone above as the Sidi's are just so comfortable but squeek as a result of not being dried properly (same issue with leather business shoes that are not allowed to fully dry - e.g. not using a Cedar Shoe-Tree)

1. Sidi Corsa / Vortice - comfort and adjustability once they've softened is fantastic
Downside: Soft sole which wears easily but can be replaced on the top-of-the-line model
(I use these for longer rides and track days)
http://www.seastarsuperbikes.co.uk/S..._whiteanth.jpg

2. TCX - X-cube - comfortable, and more durable on the sole with great ankle support. Can be worn all day and if you're cafe racing look good under the jeans or draggin pants
(USD ~$120)
http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=4527
(I use these for day-to-day commuting)

...think about what sort of riding you're going to be doing and the horses-for-courses approach

I had sidi vertigo air boots and didn't like them much. also they don't offer great protection. but of course it depends on what kind of riding you use them for and your budget. I would definitely go for the A*. much better than sidi.

I currently have the Dainese Axial New Race boots and Alpinestars Supertech R. they are both really comfortable. Love 'em.
