Front headstock stand pin?

Hi all... I think I'm going a bit nuts. Or I've bought the wrong thing... I purchased a front headstock stand for the 990r, comes with 5 different size pins (8-12mm size etc). But the brutale only has a very small locating pin hole under the headstock... I'm I completely missing something very basic here or do I need something else?

The 1st Gen bikes doesn't have holes in the triple clamp to accommodate those stand, some stand manufacturers used to make a bracket which worked, but I've not seen one for some time Simon. A bit like these examples.

Yea thanks Donsy. 2nd gen don't have them either so I'm going to get a mate of mine to make a little bracket up like the top photo you shared.
