Whilst they appear at first glance to be the Dainese jackets specifically made for MV, at that price I very much doubt it.

The Dainese branding is absent on both collar and shoulder plates and the sizing isn't in the European sizes that Dainese jackets come in. However as depicted it seems like either a close counterfeit or something out of the back door of the factory that makes the real deal. Not all Dainese kit is made in Italy, I know that they have, or had, manufacturing in the Ukraine so Czechoslovakia is a possibility.

In the picture the zip pulls are the correct type as are the poppers on the collar. However, if ordered I would be expecting something of lesser quality than shown in the pictures. These might show the genuine jackets, Photoshopped, that they bought to base the shonky knock-off version that they'll be sending you...

Their other items are, IMHO, similarly too cheap to be real.

Thanks for the input. I have a Dainese 2-piece suit right now but I'm looking for just a jacket. I found that the jacket of the suit I have to be a bit short to wear on it's own.

The Dainese 2 piece suits, sold as two-piece suits as opposed to separate jacket and jeans combos, tend to be that way. Worn separately the jackets don't work very well, as you say too high on the waist.

The advantage is the metal joining zipper. The combo approach uses a plastic coil zipper, maybe not as strong, though I've never broken one. When I used to work for a Dainese dealer (many years ago) we rarely had them back with that issue and when we did it was usually down to them not being closed properly and then pulled apart.

You can get an "extension piece" for the shorter Dainese jackets to bring them down your back further when wearing the jacket by itself.

No I don`t. I saw them at "peter stevens" which is a bike shop in Melbourne. They look like a wide waist band or cumberbun that zips to the bottom of the jacket, it wasn`t leather more like some type of textile material definitely made by Dainese though. I`ll try a couple of sites here in Aus and see what I can find

Go to mcas.com.au they are called Dainese zip belts, $54.00 aus approx. Sorry but making a link to it is beyond my meager computer skills. Be surprised if revzilla didn`t have them

Thanks for the reply. Will also see what I can find. Sounds a bit odd looking though knowing the Italians it will be odd with panache...

I do recall that Dainese did do a sort of extension that would link the coil zipper in the separates to a belt worn with normal trousers (pants to our colonial cousins).
