What do TV riders use for security

As the TV is a touring bike the expectation is to head of into the distance for days or even weeks at a time (I wish ). With this in mind and the bike not being tucked up overnight in a secure garage what do you use to try and prevent theft, tinkering or vandalism of your somewhat exotic pride and joy when on tour or visiting the city.

Not a great fan of alarms myself, they're usually more trouble than they're worth, but would consider one for the TV given that it's got to be a tempting target for the low-lifes who make it their business try and steal or vandalise.

I have a tracking system installed. If the bike is moved more than a few metres without the ignition on I get a text. At least gives me a chance if somebody tried to steak the bike. Not foolproof of course but better than nothing. I pay a subscription but you can design and install your own a lot cheaper.

Thanks guys.

Gero, good insurance cover I consider essential though I would prefer not to have to use it as costs spiral upwards after a claim.

Mick, tracking system, good idea. Though if an alarm goes off when they try to move it to start with you'd hope that all but the most determined would run away. Having said that I did loose a bike to thieves, four of them lifted into a van still with it's cover over, locks though both wheels and the alarm sounding

Tracking system would hopefully achieve some justice with an arrest, at what cost though, bike maybe damaged or partially stripped by the time the police get there. Or are you thinking of another type of justice

Update on this. Getting insurance quotes the underwriters won't play ball without an alarm fitted due the bike not being garaged for the first few months. Should be built in time for renewal.

Having this alarm fitted by supplying dealer. Thread with questions is here (it covers all 3 cylinder MVs apparently). If you've had one fitted or know more input would be appreciated. Thanks for reading.
