Kriega Sizes

I'm planning on buying a Kriega bag for some casual overnight trips up the California coast. My goal was to start with a single tail bag and then add their smaller bags should I need more space. I'm having trouble visualizing the volume of their US10, 20, and 30 bags as far as what I could theoretically fit into the bag. The goal would be to fit a couple sets of clothes, regular tennis shoes, a dslr (with 2 small lenses), and perhaps some minor tools. I was thinking getting a US20 and then if need be mounting 1, or 2, US 10's to the side of it for a total of 40 liters. I have no clue whether or not that would be underkill, overkill, or just right. Any input from users of the Kriega stuff is appreciated.

PS: dont suggest a backpack instead. I will not ride with a magnesium dslr body pressed up against my bike.

The 10 will hold a change of clothes (jeans) , converse trainers , soap bag and my hair straighteners 😉 perfect for a night or two

Went 7 days round France with a 20

Have used a 20 and 2 x 10s when I did 10 days to Italy but was overkill

The 5 won't fit on the 10

I'd get a 20 and a 10 👍

Another tip when you've packed it is to give it a good 'squeeze' and roll to get the air out - makes a difference

This is a US20 on my MV 920.
They are fantastic bags . 100% waterproof and do not move at all, even at silly speeds . I've used mine on several weeks away and I will never use anything else .

On my old street triple

Brutale 800 Italia
Monster 796 .

Kriega Sizes

I've done a 14 day trip with the US40 combo and a 5L tank bag. Even had room for my wet weather gear (was wearing leathers) and a can of chain lube!

Also have an R25 backpack that I sometimes use for overnighters.

I've been using Kriega for many years and am a big fan. I have a 30 and 2 x 10.
I use all for long trips +7 days, the 30 for cloths etc, a 10 for wallet and things I want to easily access, and a 10 for puncture repair kit, tyre pressure gauge, chain lube, bike stuff. There is room left for shopping along the way.
The 30 is a little big for weekends, unless I am carrying gear for two people, so it needs to be rolled up tighter. A 20 would be better +/- a 10 .
The 10 is good for every day use.
I hope this helps
