Does this type of rear stand exist?

I could have sworn I saw for a split second on TV a rider on a bike, which was on a rear stand, and the bike running at a high rate of speed. Is there a stand out there that allows for this kind of activity???? I've never seen anything like this, but would love to have one.

You mean the bike was moving? Or the wheel was turning and the bike was stationary?

If the former, then you can do that with a standard rear stand. You just need to clip the lever end up to the tail to lift it off the floor. I've seen Ducatis run from the paddock to the starting grid with they're stands held like that. I wouldn't want it to come out the spindle though. That'd probably subsequently cause a lot of damage to the wheel and rear end.

The bike was not moving. THe rear was up on a stand the guy looked like he was going full throttle with it on the stand. They then dropped the stand and the guy took off like nobody's business. Maybe it's only for race teams??? I'd love to get my hands on one though.

The stand would have to have some kind of drum on it to take the load. Otherwise running the transmission at high speed wouldn't be good for it.

You sure it wasn't one of those '70s Evel Knievel toy stunt bikes?
