Engine identification

Hallo. Can someone write me from which version of the motorcycle is this engine?

f4 1000s or f4 1000r ?

looks like a 2009 1078RR Brutale based on the ECU data.

8000A6403 was replaced by 8C00B1322, I think. A bit or research should tell you. Some one with more Gen 1 knowledge will be able to confirm.

The ECU is labeled as a F41000S. The cylinder head cover does not have the second air system, so a pre-Euro3 model.

That makes it 2007 or earlier in the USA, maybe 2006 and earlier in other markets.

The F4 1000S and R engines are pretty much the same, it was the chassis upgrades that made the "R".

Yes ECU date is 2006-10-14 . Are these engines mechanically the same?

I do believe so.... if not, the only difference might be the cams or throttle body size (don't think so). Easily confirmed by comparing part numbers.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.
