New Year's Day Ride - Arizona

Euro Motorsports of Scottsdale is hosting the following event:

Euro Sport Ride Monday January 1st 2007

A perfect way to start the new year . . . this ride will start at 9:30am at the Euro Motorsports Scottsdale compound (that’s Ducati / Triumph / MV Agusta / BMW Scottsdale for the unfamiliar) and proceed through Fountain Hills, past Saguaro Lake and then on to Tortilla Flats. This is a casual ride not a road race.

All motorcyclists are welcome to participate

9:30 a.m. Depart BMW Motorcycles of Scottsdale parking lot

Please come fueled for both rides and prepared for a day of fun with fellow motorcycle enthusiast.

This would be a good chance to get the MV boys to rally and meet up. Any interest?

Would like to, but I won't be home yet unfortunately. Maybe next time.

Turns out my pregnant wife is sick and probably can't go to the wedding. So, do I:

a) Stay home to nurse my sick pregnant wife; or
b) Ride the MV out to AZ for the Saturday wedding and Monday right and ride home on Tuesday. Hmmmm.

Seriously, I'm not up to a 1000 mile trip right now and if I did make it to AZ, I wouldn't be in any condition for the Monday right. I ain't as young as I use to be.

I'm 90% there. Trouble is, I live close to Tortilla flat and Saguaro Lake so I have to ride 40 miles of slab in the wrong direction to get to the starting point. Still worth it though...

Fazer6 and I did Tortilla Flat the other day along with Wayne on his Aprilia RS250. Much fun - the Aprilia stroker is just right for the tight technical stuff up Canyon Lake.

Agreed, I love those small prillers, I'm still hoping they stuff a 450 or 550 twin into that chassis.
Either that or hopefully Cagiva will see fit to give us a supermono again.

Koop, you should just ride up Bush highway to get there, you'll actually get to enjoy it traffic-free.

BTW...I should have mentioned how much I enjoyed our early morning romp - brrr. Wasn't cold once we started working the twisties though.

You mean up Bush Hwy past Saguaro then down Beeline to Shea to get to Euro-Moto?

Exactly, but you can swoop around on FLLW to get there, and skip riding through Scottsdale.

I was fine in the canyon, but I froze on the way home. By the time I got off the 202 I could barely pull the brake, and I was wearing my winter gloves.

BTW, are you going out tomorrow morning?
