One MV in 3 weeks

Hey family.
I'm currently lying on the beach in Akumal following a 3 week ride across the states.

Not an MV run, only saw one of these at Sturgis....and that was the only one across the entire trip.

My wife and i hit 6000kms, our mates 10,000.

We took in the Black Hills, Sioux falls, Rochester, Dubuque, Chicago, Louisville, Erwin and Nashville.

We rode the Rattlesnake and the Dragon's tail. We met hundreds of generous riders and folks who gave us great local advice on routes and ideas. We keep mainly to the secondary roads and avoided the big interstates wherever we could.

We all loved riding the Smoky Mountains and that was a great way to end the road trip.

When i get back to proper civilization, I'll build a proper map route...but for now, thanks USA, you treated us well.

The H-D Road Glide i bought for the trip performed brilliantly for what it's designed to do. It's now packed and being shipped home to replace my Street Glide.

Ciao for now

Tim

Happy you enjoyed a nice trip...it is a big country with a lot of variety....you are right, the Smokey Mountains are the best.

Not many MV Agusta motorcycles in this vast land... you don't see many anywhere. Come back for the Gapalicious. There will be a few there. We can probably even find one for you to ride!!
cruiser and silentservice703 like this.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

Ed, I'd come in a heartbeat for some of that riding....just amazing. It was awesome to enjoy it with my wife and a solo ride on a 'go-fast' would be exceptional as well.

It there a posted Ride-route for Gapalicious?

Cheers
Tim

No posted route per-se. We do a variety of rides through the Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee and North Georgia. Always make at least one ride over the Tail of the Dragon just because (NOT the best ride actually, but there it is).

Multiple rides along the Cherohala Skyway (fabulous road) because our HQ is at one end of it.... and lots of less known roads.

Next day's routes are discussed in the evening over drinks and dinner, and different groups go on different rides. So many great roads to pick from.

But it is really about the camaraderie. We haven't had a Kiwi or Aussie with us since Dave and Donsy came over for the original Bubbalicious events, but we do have representation from the UK and Germany the last couple of years (and this year as well!!).

C'mon over !!! I know it is a long and expensive hike for you, and you just finished the "Great Cruiser Ride" (no pun intended) to Sturgis, so probably can't do it this year....maybe next.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.
