I still cant figure out why someone would voluntarily run 26 miles.
Well when he is in his 70's Andrew will look, feel and have the physical health of someone much younger.

I will see how my vacation works out. I am going on a moto tour to Spain in the first 2 weeks of Sept. Trying to take a week off two weeks after I just took 2 weeks off may have my employer scratching his head. I might slip down to the Dragon for Memorial Day weekend.

Time and money................ never enough of either.

You may want to reconsider that statement:

"a new study says running in excess may actually shorten your overall lifespan. According to the study presented at the annual meeting of the American College of Cardiology in Washington, D.C., last year, high-mileage runners are just as at risk of shortening their lifespan as those who get no exercise. Mar 31, 2015"

So, today I am setting the dates to October 2-6, 2019 dependent on reserving the cabins in Tellico Plains.

I will look into The Bear's Den and see how that affects the cost.
That's my birthday weekend and we usually go out of town.

You can always find a study somewhere to prove about anything. If running is so bad look up Ed Whitlock. I know running is not for everyone and if you stomp when you run I would say to not do it. You need to do something with less impact.

Ed Whitlock (March 6, 1931 March 13, 2017) was an English-born Canadian long-distance runner, and the first person over 70 years old to run a marathon in less than three hours with a time of 2:59:10 in 2003.

Whitlock, who ran as a teenager and took up the sport again in his forties, first became the oldest person to run a marathon in less than three hours in 2000, at the age of 69, with a time of 2:52:47. He later extended this record, running a time of 2:58:40 at the age of 74. At 73, he set a world record in the marathon for men 70 to 74, running a 2:54:48, his fastest time after turning 70. According to an article in The New York Times, if age-graded, this time would be equivalent to a 20-year-old running 2:03:57 and which would have been the fastest marathon ever run in 2010.[1] For an explanation of age-graded tables, see masters athletics. At the time of his death, Whitlock was known to be the only person over 70 to run a marathon in less than three hours.[2] At age 85, he became the oldest person to run a marathon in less than four hours at 3 hours, 56 minutes 34 seconds at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon in October 2016.

If I am as fit as Andrew at his age, or as fit as George at his age, I think I'll be doing ok. Those guys should arm wrestle at the next meet
