I've never been to Monza, but it is on my bucket list.. Ever since I saw the film Grand Prix with James Garner, I've been meaning to visit the circuit and pay homage to the old banked circuit.

I think WSBK doesn't race there anymore because the tyre manufacturers can't guarantee their longevity. Shame really, as I remember the Suzuki Corona's bikes of the 2000's lighting up the rear tyres around the right-hand Parabolica bend..

Imola is a beautiful town and the locals are super friendly. If you're going to attend a WSBK round, then I would highly recommend Imola.

Jonathan Rea and the Kawasaki's where on top form and in total control over the weekend. It would have taken something very special from the rest of the field to beat Rea last weekend.

The best race of the weekend was the little 300cc race on Sunday and the Spanish girl Ana Carrasco was amazing.. She's the female version of Mike Hailwood

Kenan Sofuoglu retirement was a class act.. I liked the way he qualified for the Sunday race on the front row and then came in after the warm up lap.. Respect !!

The circuit put up a nice memorial to Nicky inside the hospitality centre.. I only posted a small number of the pics I took and there was a memorial book for fans to write their tributes and this was then going to be sent onto Nicky's family.

I was on a bike trip when we stopped at Monza . Shame there isn't a musuem there, not a great deal to see . Slightly surreal riding about on the side roads in the park though . You enter via Enzo Ferrari way down a little street .
Flew to Muggello on a package trip, a crazy weekend .
