Hi Izzi, I know some very good roads in Spain, Where are you intending to go as I have not yet been everywhere.
I have been to the Pyrennes, the Picos, Extremadura, Galica, Asturias, Castilla Y Leon, Castilla la Mancha, Aragon, Navarra, Pais Vasco, La Roija, Cataluna + Andorra and Portugal.

What type of roads do you enjoy?

Hi Rick
We haven't got any plans once we get there as yet, last year we got off the ferry at Santander and came into France across the pyrennes and it was spectular so this year were just going to stay in spain, were looking for some scenic routes preferably with a bend or two and just anywhere that you would recommend

Ok, Coast road Santillana to San Vincente, not on a Sunday as rammed with locals.N621 Panes to Potes then Fuente de and cable car have lunch at top. N621 Potes to Riano. N625 to Cangas de Onis not to be missed. Covadonga watch out for the coaches.
West of Oviedo, San Martin to la Riera AS265 -As227 to Pola.
Cangas de Narcea AS14 Grandas de Salime. AS28 LU703 AS21 Porto de Abaixo nice stop for lunch. N640 to Lugo. Explore walled old town maybe. N540/547 Santiago see the Cathedral, maybe stay in the Parador opposite.
N120 Ourense to Monfort de Lemos the section by the river Mino is awesome but watch bridges as steel joints in road slippy in the wet, then on to Ponferrada and Villablino maybe?
There are crap roads but thats part of the fun. The roads mentioned were, when ridden in good condition and fun. lots of other great rides out there, hope this selection helps with your planning, I usually use good old Google Earth to see state of roads etc but not always accurate or up to date.
Watch out when joining from a slip road as Spanish drivers will not move over to let you in and when entering a builtup area the radar will often trip a red light if you exceed the speed limit, the locals will overtake you at the last minute and dive through triggering the red and piss themselves laughing when you stop.
Have a safe trip & enjoy :-)

Sounds like some of the roads we covered last year

Have a Garmin GPS file for the above if that would be any use to the OP.

Villablino is surrounded by some great roads.

http://www.casazalama.es/en/ If you're heading towards the Pyrenees this is a good stop for first night if coming off the evening ferry from Santander

English speaking (chap moved from Brighton years ago ) and a hot meal will be waiting for you. Plenty of great roads enjoy !! Pyrenees we found too crowded and full of cyclists but still great fun
