I know there are many threads about RG3s, but in a nutshell, Noel or others, could you mention the difference between these, and, say, stock F41000R system? Cheers.
Oh no Nigel! You really go too far now. I mean RG3 topics on this MV forum are like oil topics on other forums.
Really you can read all about it and the difference is basically the same as with every upgrade exhaust.
I have a set on my 750. There is puck all difference to the standard system except the baffles in the end cans and RG3 stamped on the end cans. I personally wanted genuine RG3s rather than some hacked up stockies. Why? I guess I feel end cans with the baffles removed or bigger baffles stuck in there seems a bit fake.
The RG3 system is the performance up-grade "off highway use only" exhaust. Supplied as a kit, including chip or ECU, with certain models (as the SC system is with some new limited models).
It was also sold as an accessory kit by MV for models that did not include it in the crate, with or without the ECU.
Came in both stainless steel and titanium. Inox system weighs less due to no catalytic converter. The SPR came with the Inox kit in the crate, Not sure about others although I am pretty certain the CC came with the Ti system in the crate.
So the RG3 is the Tamburini designed "racing" system, made by Arrow but only sold by MV, and supplied with some limited edition bikes and as an upgrade for others.
There is a similar "off highway use only" system for the Brutale, not called RG3.
The 2006 910R came with it included in the crate. I have the kit Inox system on my 2008 910R and Randarosa has the Ti system on his.
thats really interesting Arthur. The 312 came stock with slash cuts that look exactly like that but they were not rg3. But did u buy specifically slash cut rg3s?
312 in aus came with slash cuts if my memory serves me correctly. I know cos i bought a stock exhaust off 312 to put on mybike and they are slash cuts in silver, but not rg3
Also Arthur, u mentioned that u are offering the rgs3 exhaust to the OP, did i read that correctly?
but i asked u last year are u selling any rg3s and u said if u were ud let me know if u decide to
did u forget about me lol
i cant win lol
let me know if the op doesn't buy them off u and we can work something out
Correct call. I just recently purchase an MV battery charger from @YJP . The shipping was actually more expensive than the product, and then there was tax and landed charges on top of that. I make no complaint about that, because as I mentioned to YJP many of us are prepared to pay 'over the odds' for a special piece.
I mention this, Rob, just so you are aware that you could be in for a massive shock cost-wise, a point I suspect you have already considered.
I’m considering to sell my rg3 slip on if you’re interested
