is that made by Arrow as in guys that do formula1 crankshafts?

if it is I love their work its something special.
Was going to buy a crankshaft and connecting rods for my duratec 2.0L in a Ford Escort Mk1.
Had it all arranged then they told me what shipping would cost from England to Australia .... it was something like $1700 shipping. I had to back out of the deal.

Went with cosworth stuff that is just re-branded corrillo and stock ford parts.
plus a stock mazda steel crankshaft from america parts + $350 shipping

Great stuff guys, yup i bought it off MVraptor and it's on its way to NZ.
The collectors are next, I've got a complete set from the 990r so I'm thinking of doing a mod to use the mid pipe 2-1.
Yes, the Gen 2 models are. 4-2-1 into the Cat so not as simple.
..and im really looking forward to the bike's diet.

Tim;
Are the 990 pipes welded to the Cat?
Will the 910R head pipes fit the 990?

I know someone with an extra set of non welded 910R head pipes

Noel, they are buddy - and having compared the Gen-1 Cat sitting next to the Gen-2 combined set, it looks feasible...but a pain (noting a I'm not a welder and they might say it's a easy job) !

If I were to cut the 990 headers, I would obviously need a new Mid-Pipe made up to mate with the Arrow. However, to your point - if the 910R headers fit on the 1090/990 block...then I'll definitely need to chat !

I've not seen anyone comment on switching the headers but I've always been dubious as the Gen2 engines were designed with the Counterweight Crankshaft addition - this added a small bulge to the front of the engine block (above the number 55) - which obviously the new headers were shaped to go-around. The question being, do the gen1 headers have enough room to work around the Counterweight crankshaft ?

The only way to check is to do it.... fortunately I've got the 910r track bike so I'll pull the that apart and see if they fit - I was just hoping to avoid the exercise....regrettably I can't think of an alternative approach. At least it's a definitive test that I can document for everyone.

Cheers

The Arrow Thunder should come with a mid pipe, it connects directly to the 910R head pipes
You just need to see if the 910R head pipes fit the 990 engine

Yes Noel - absolutely correctly and Graeme has provided the Mid-Pipe
