Problem with engine Idle

Put an Arrow full exhaust system on my 1090RR and seemed to be runnning fine. Yesterday, the idle started jumping up an down between 1000-1300. Plus the bike would shut off when I pulled in the clutch to stop. If I use the choke I can smooth it out. When the bike is really warm it isn't too bad but it is ruining the ride. Is there an idle adjustment that might make it better

Hi George, the best you can do is get the TPS reset and general throttle body tune looked at. Have you changed the type of fuel you're using?

That clutch issue you have does it happen only when your about to stop and pull the clutch in? My SPR does it too i cant figure it out. Especially when the bike is warm or in traffic.

number 2,so what else did you change, The Ecu, etc. if not what you have done is totally stuffed up the tuning of the bike. When changes are made to the exhaust system it effects the back pressure and the ecu can not compensate for the changes. All weird and wonderful crap starts to happen. So if you can tell us what other changes you have made we or I will try and help after I have finished my Scotch.
ps: not being rude here but I am slowly starting to sound like Noel. Lol

I would say you need a race ecu and a pc5 installed to fix your issue, or a Microtec from Chris at Xbikes.

If you do not want to do the above. You will have to take it to a bike shop that has vdst software and leads to reset the tps and adjust the idle fuel trim ,do not under any circumstance stuff around with the throttle bodies. The only thing you can play around with is the air bleed valves, 1 brass screw on each throttle.

cheers eddy Now where did I leave that glass.

thanks guys. PCV was installed and the problem started. Took it back to the tuner and they did some more mapping at low throttle settings. Much much better now. Still hunts a little at idle but doesn't shut off and runs much smoother off idle. It is once again fun to ride
