Air box Snorkels

You think you 'know' your own bike pretty well....,then discover something that surprises you.

That happened to me today...,I decided to re-fit my air box snorkels, having removed them hastily recently to try out the air box mod as per....http://www.mvagusta.net/forum/showth...t=52437&page=5

What I hadn't noticed ..until today when refitting them was that they are both the 'same hand'.
I'm not so sure that this is correct!...,surely there should be a 'left' and a 'right'?

There is a little moulded 'boss' on the inside lip of the airbox and a corresponding 'notch' on the bottom inside lip of the airbox snorkel for it to fit over.

This cannot happen if they are both the same hand...also the curved section of the snorkels should surely curve 'downwards'?....well on mine the 'right' (incorrect one I believe) has to be fitted with the 'curved' section going upwards??.

I've taken some shots to illustrate what I'm trying to explain.
Perhaps someone could shed some light on this....as it's the first I've noticed it..,and has came like this from new.
Brian

yes, there should be a left and right version:

http://www.startwintrading.com/en/mo...9_-_10/oem/638

MV was probably out of parts, as at the time they build the 1078
they were close to bancrupcy.

Thanks for that Hanspeter....I've contacted Carl...,and he is gonna sort one for me.
Can't believe the bike came from the factory like this!...and I've only just discovered it 'now'.
Just as well I decided to do the 'airbox mod' last week as it probably would have gone 'undetected' until..........???
Brian.

Brian.
It could improve air flow with air going in above and the bottom of the airbox.? Let us know if theres any difference when you change it over.
