Engine braking software, info needed

Fairly recently had an ECU reflash done, had the rpm limit upped to 15,600. Now when I rev it up to the limit then roll off the throttle I don't have engine braking for a brief moment.
Now I am presuming it doesn't start working untill 15,000 and lower.
Any ideas what's causing this??

Wouldn't it be nice if we didn't have to surmise what year or model bike you are asking about?

There is very little expertise here with regards to the newer ECUs.
