Re working f3 exhaust

I'm hoping to get a sportier sound from the standard exhaust by removing all the internals as after market exhaust manufacturers don't seem to have made one which looks as nice, in my opinion.

Seem to recall someone mentioning on here that it's been done and the sound isn't great?

I love my QD exhaust. Sounds deeper with 1 baffle out.

Take a chance while you still got the choice.

There was another one on here where the internals were completely removed and a nicely made one-into-three section installed, but I can't find it right now.

We're all here, but we're not all there.

I'm considering taking out the cat and popping a link pipe in with the standard silencer. Anybody done this and know if it makes it sound like a bag of bolts?

Or, given the above linked thread is the factory triple exhaust all in one piece with the cat? In which case would the easiest option be to just put an aftermarket can on which eliminates the cat? (Do correct me if I'm wrong as I've not taken the belly off before so do not know)

The cat is built into the header pipe, before the exhaust valve, not in the silencer box.

Yes but prefer the quality & finish of the original pipes.

The finish I can understand, the Zero is the closes to an original look. But the quality?? Have you seen the welding on the standard box? It's abysmal!
