Gas tank sweating/leaking

so my tanks been oozing gas around the mounting point and welded seam. I can't see exactly from where since it comes out like sweat.
(I'm sure I would have noticed sooner if I had a working sense of smell.)

I am bringing it in to see it it can be fixed, and hopefully without needing to be fully repainted...

this bike's 10 years old, never known a cold night or rain, with only 15k miles...
I didn't see any other people experiencing this on the forum, so I wonder what could have caused mine?

Bio,

The expensive, "proper" way to repair it is to have it rewelded...

...however, look at Caswell tank sealer, it's got great reviews on Amazon and elsewhere. I bought it as a pre-emptive insurance for my carbon Duc 748 tank but I haven't used it yet.

There are options to use an internal tank sealer like KBS. They will seal the leak (and the entire surface of the tank) without a repaint.

I'm sure that there will be other options & advice but this is all I could think of that will not require a repaint.

It ain't what you ride, it's the way you ride it.

thanks for the info on this. talked it over with my shop and decided to get it welded. if it ends up needing re-painting, that'll at least get rid of a couple paint knicks & scratches...
