I have heard that they are very touchy before I bought one so I suspected this to be sort of the charateristic of the bike but it does make for slow speed riding (especially commuting in heavy traffic) cumbersome. It is definitely manageable just will need some practice as no other bike I have been on has had such a jerky response at low speeds. I will definitely start with my throttle cables to see if that helps at all as well.

It is the nature of the design that there is a jump from idle to 2000rpm. It is the way the ignition curve is set up, so adding a fuel adjusting device is not going to fix it.
Low speed riding will require slipping the clutch together with a lower gear and more revs.

Actually once setup properly it doesn't need to be this way. However there aren't many people around that know how to do it.

Hello Jochen, pretty old post but i see you are still an active member.
Could you give some more detail about the advancing ignition and de leaning out to improve handeling?
what kind of late ignition advance was it before tune and how much was it advanced? and in what map area. Same question about the fueling. What kind of air fuel rates was the bike having before the tune and what target was set for after the tune?

@Robbedoes: Could you tell us the year and model of your bike so that you can be pointed in the right direction? Adding that information to your signature line negates this question.

@silentservice703

It is not directly related to my bike, i was just wondering what kind of numbers OEM are and how much adjustment gives a good improvement. Nevertheless good remark. i updated my signature. (I am fidlding around with a AFR gauge/logger).

Yes, it really is a long time ago....
My 1090RR now is in bike heaven, crashed her on track in 2014. Total loss

Unfortunately I do not have ignition and fuelling tabels here, my tuner did it all on his own.
I remember that he took lower timing tables from other in four engines as the high revs were nearly identical.
The 1090RR really pulled much harder at lower revs and the hesitation was gone.

Sorry I do not have any more information for you.

No issues with fueling on my 1090RR. When standard it was fine, with MV Corse OL4 titanium slip on exhaust it was also fine. Then I fit Silmoto titanium headers, decat, BMC airfilter, removed snorkels from airbox and remapped using a Rapidbike EVO tuner.

Results below,picked up 13bhp at the back wheel....fueling and throttle response is spot on.
