Strange transmission issue after crash

I lowsided the Brutale at the track last weekend, and while the damage was mostly cosmetic (Motovation frame sliders FTW! Zero damage to tank or frame!), I did discover an issue when attempting to remove the damaged shifter pedal.

With the bike on the rear stand, and the clutch pulled in, the rear wheel doesn't turn freely. I can turn it by hand but there is a lot of resistance (Can't check in neutral - the shift lever got completely mangled, so I had to cut if off at the shaft. The bike is therefore stuck in gear until a replacement shifter arrives). It seems like the clutch is not disengaging fully, but the clutch MC didn't take any damage in the crash. However the handlebar ended up rotating 180* in the clamps - twisting the clutch line. It got somewhat kinked but when I straightened everything out there were no leaks. The clutch fluid was changed and the clutch bled only a few weeks ago. Fresh oil as well.

I parked the bike until I can figure this out. Any suggestion on where to start?

grab whats left of the shift lever with Vise Grips and shift it into neutral....bet the wheel will turn freely

I'll try when I get home. But why would it suddenly start behaving like this? I'm pretty sure that wasn't the case pre-crash. Isn't this indicative of clutch drag?

but i doubt you tried turning the back wheel with the bike in gear with the clutch pulled

What stand are you using ? The OEM red stands don't turn very easily as it is.

That's exactly what I tried. Lots of resistance when turning it

It's not OEM, but I forget which company. It spun freely on the same stand before.

Although now that you mention it... the rear wheel nut ground down just a tiny bit in the crash. It's barely even noticeable, but I think it might be just enough damage to possibly interfere with the stand since clearance was so tight to begin with... Going to try taking it off the stand and rolling it around the garage. Hopefully that was all it is

cut to the chase;

shift the POS into neutral and the try turning the wheel

a buggered axle/nut won't make any difference......

the spindle is on ball bearings too
