Hi Donsy, Here's a post from a forum member back in 09...It seems they are in common with some Honda models..possibly Yamaha.

I have a 2006 F4 cylinder head here. If you want me to get the diameter of the shims measured so that you can go into a Honda dealership armed with right info then let me know..

joe

So just in case anyone is wondering... if you do a valve job and need shims CRF250 shims are identical to the MV shims I dont know if this is common knowledge or not but I thought I would pass it along.

Joe, I have some shims from a shim kit that was used for a Kwaker ZX-11. If you measure the diameter, I'll check my Kwacker shims to see if they will work....

Thanks Joe, if you can just measure the outside dia for me, I have none here, then I can ask my friend over here in the Honda shop.
I remember someone posting about a kit, as MV recommends certain min/max thicknesses.

Dons, if it turns out the Kwaker shims will work, I'll send them your way.

7.48 mm is what mine measures to. and collective wisdom seems to corroborate this dimension as a standard used by Kawasaki , Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki.

Mine has 205 stamped on it....

There are ebay sellers for shim kits. Hot cams seems to be popular...

Yes, they are standard for Honda, Kawa and others. MV specifies the allowed thickness to be between 1.60 and 2.60 mm.

If you don't find the exact one, you can also brush them against sandpaper layed on a glass to get a few 0.01s off. It worked couple of times for me.
Or if you want to have a blueprinted engine, for instance and you can all put them on same clearance.

One race team that will run F3 this year just rebuilt the engine to the tolerances and gained 3-4 HP.
