This is a fairly common problem that plagues MV. Do what Mitchy and Noel have suggested.

Do you not have a manual for your F4 yet?

No fuse between starter motor and battery....just the solenoid contacts, and the cables.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

All Fords have a separate solenoid, GMs have the solenoid on the starter

Common for every bike I have ever worked on except an old Harley.

Solenoid is just a high amp switch controlled by a low amp signal..... but you know all this. Anyway. No fuse in the starter circuit. Cables, battery, solenoid (relay, contactor, whatever you want to call it) and starter motor.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.
