Hub a Dub Dub

Hey Family, as some of you know my 2017 Brutale 1090RR was stolen from my office - I've replaced her with another ABS model but a little earlier (2015). The new one had about 12,000 kms on the clock so just starting to run in.

Anyway, as we always recommend here, if you don't know the exact history, make sure you check your fluids and hub. Today was Hub Service day...

Glad to hear you got another one, Tim. I hope your insurance helped with the purchase and it wasn't too dear.

Looks like your hub timing was impeccable....looks good now.

My F3 hub looked similar at 9000km and 3 years old, lucky I caught it... I would recommend greasing it after the first 2 years from new.

Thanks Chuck - yes very happy with the new one - the owner had kept the exterior of the bike impeccable - but you never can tell.

Cheers

Cheers Mitchy - Yup, she'd never been extracted and/or someone had attempted to re-pack a heap of grease into the hub...there was a major build-up on the outer edge next to the closed bearing side.

As you know, it doesn't take much to perform the hub service - 90mins from the start of disassembly to completion.

Hi Tim

The inner races look pristine as you would expect. Did you wash the old grease out of the roller bearings and repack them?
