F4 1000r 2015 exhaust valve solenoid control unit failure

Hi guys my 2015 f1000r came up with malfunction on dash and exhaust valve fault, I took it to my local mv dealer and they diagnosed faulty control motor and said they do fail now and then and said the best way to sort it would be to remove that and the cables completely and plug in a device that would tell the ecu that all is fine and this would allow me all the power and a little more exhaust noise for a fraction of the cost of a new control motor which may fail again, so I took is advice, paid the dealer and picked bike up, the bike now goes properly but the engine light still comes on with same message on dash after about 4 miles and resets each time I start her, phoned my dealer and he said give it a while and it should sort itself out, responses please

Sounds like the device is not compatible with your ecu, or it is faulty. Are you able to identify which ecu is fitted to your bike?

"give it a while and it should sort itself out" That's a class comment from a dealer.

I seem to recall that not all the Exhaust Valve eliminators work very well with the MV, a good search on here might prove that, or disprove it :-). Do you know which one was fitted?

The ECU is the Eldor Nemo EM2.0

You can also turn this off with a reflash but that will cost 250 on wards

Thanks for the info guys, if it does not settle I will do a little digging if I cannot sort it I will get ecu mapped out or get a new actuator motor or I may get a complete exhaust system and get it fully mapped, not sure if expense of exhaust is worth the gain over stock system

My F4 is more powerful than any race bike I had, so I don't care about power anymore. Sorry I know many wont like that, but the BHP is more than most can use and the bike limits the power through the gears and rev range.

A good mapping can help with power delivery though.

They also sound good (I had to make a db killer for the SC Project as it was too loud) and on an F4 they weight so much less. On the F4 all the weight is high up too.

The ECU sends a test signal to the servo motor on bike startup. The response of the servo motor must be within a certain range. Once the servo motor response is out of that range, you get the error.

The servo eliminator, probably HealTech, doesn't always work with the MV electronics for reasons I do not know.

Were it me, I'd open up the servo motor and lube it up, make sure it's free to operate, and reinstall it in place of the eliminator.

Using TOOL>ADVANCED SEARCH>EXHAUST VALVE can bring up valuable results like this: https://www.mvagusta.net/forum/129-m...error-fix.html

Most problems with these bikes have been discussed before.

I have spoken to heal tech and they say the servo eliminator does not work on my bike and they don't think there is one that will work with my ecu, so going to get bike off dealer and get a proper remap to sort the issue, just got to find nearest guy to norwich, England

Yes, the exhaust valve and gas position errors are two common faults on the F4. I sorted the exhaust valve error installing a complete exhaust RG7 with Racing ECU and the gas position error with a new throttle supplied under warranty. Also had the motor under warranty for the exhaust valve error but soon after the fault appeared again on the dash. Only with a complete exhaust installation and no wires had the error gone
