Question Click...Click...Vroooommm.

Vacation 10 days.

F4 1000S, 2006, fully charged before leaving.

Raining, so doing a static garage startup to run the bike.

Press starter button. Click.... press again Click..... Press again Vroooomm, she lights up as normal, running smooth.

So, Battery low? Relay tired? Or just one of those MV things?

Thanks for any reply.

The wiring to the relay, the relay connection, and the relay itself, are probably due for a refurbishment also.

I'd also venture a guess to check your ground path for resistance via corrosion.

Starter Solenoid .. (Relay) -- odds are 100:1 on that .. Especially with a charged battery .. in the locked topic "parts" you can find the replacement parts number, from a Yamaha Quad, I believe :-)

If its the Solenoid, it will get progressively worse .. But then again the same goes for a poor ground connection or corroded contacts/plugs.

I recently had a starter solenoid on my R6 that was intermittent. It showed the same symptons that you described above.

If the battery is charged as you say other likely causes could be:

- earth.
- starter switch - may need a clean.

There others but these are my thoughts on the most likely

Thumbs up ?

Come on folks, THINK
If it goes click, click and then starts on separate pushes of the button, its obviously not the battery
There's a loose corroded/connection in the power or ground to the starter
If on one push of the button it clicks repeatedly, it's low battery or bad connection to the 4 wire plug

They're copper connectors held by a steel bolt.......you put 200+ Amps through the resistance
in the connection.....the copper expands faster than the bolt, tightening the connection....
And the POS starts

No fucking shit
