Quickshifter problem?

By way of background, my 2015 F4 has been mapped with ECUStudio (can't recommend it enough - so much smoother) and downshifts with blipper enabled.

But I have an intermittent issue with gear changes which I am guessing is an issue with the QS.

When I go for a ride, up and down shifts always start off well and (clutchless) gear changes are initiated with minimal pressure applied to the lever. But after a time (no set time or number of changes) the pedal seems stiff and sometimes will not change without the clutch. If I pull the clutch lever, gear changes are always smooth and easy suggesting that my problem is not with gear box?

And sometimes it will work fine again after a few clutched changes ... or maybe not?

Any advice?

Hi Hawk

I can't offer advice but I can confirm my bike has the same problem after having ECU Studio installed in the last month. Clutchless changes are perfect until usually the bike is up to normal working temperature and then like yours the blipper does not seem to work as the gear lever is very stiff. I have also noticed that if you close the throttle and slightly open it again quickly the blipper works perfectly. I am assuming you also have the translogic sensor fitted?

My bike was one of the few 2016 models that did not have the OEM quick shifter fitted (for reasons that I now understand was due to the sensor becoming a MV accessory during that year) The technical advisor from ECU studio that assisted me install the software has advised the sensor's preload has to be overcome before sensor can operate properly. I have not ridden the bike since this advice was received, but like you I feel as though even standing on the pedal would not make a lot of difference, apart from some likely damage.

@Chilblane - have you got rearsets or standard pegs?

OK thanks - that rules out any issues with the standard linkage etc.

Reading this again, there is probably an intermittent connection somewhere in the quick shift system.

There are others here who are much more knowledgeable than I about this system.

I'd be using Advanced Search and combing through the posts from folks who have resolved issues.

@Nephalem comes to mind for help.

if you have ECU studio check the voltages displayed when doing a live log (engine does NOT have to be started) and see if it matches the settings you have for your quickshift settings.

which quickshift sensor do you guys run?

As I think I have said before, I am an idiot when it comes to these sort of things and I relied (watched) @dansoarr do everything but I am pretty sure all of the settings were correct as we had a few problems.

Running standard (OEM) QS
