Broke female fuel fitting

While changing the fuel fittings to the metal ones one broke off inside the fuel pump plate tried to get it out by heat and it melted into the thread any suggestions on how to remove the plastic without ruining the metal threads

Try an EZ-Out if there is enough material to get a purchase....otherwise you are going to spend some tedious minutes breaking and picking the bits out.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

Chase the threads with a tap of the appropriate diameter and thread pitch.

Was going to suggest a tap. My only concern is I thought the thread was one that tapered. So a normal tap may remove thread material?

The material being removed, plastic, is softer than the metal.

I would probably warm it up and chase it with the new metal CPC fitting.
