2007 brut stalled and won't start

2007 Brutale

I recently replaced the SPU and everything seemed to be running fine. I went of on a ride and got up to highway speed the machine was running great. I was heading back home and the Brutale just stalled. I shut it off and waited a few minutes and the bike turned over strong just wouldn't fire up. I got it home and checked all the usual suspects. During my inspection I noticed that when I turn the key to on the fuel pump wasn't as loud as it usually is. I also noticed noise in the tank. I removed the gas cap and when I turned the ignition on a lot of bubbles percolated to the top. I never had this happen. I am thinking this might be my problem. I plan on removing the tank and removing the fuel pump and replace the lines and clamps. I am also planning to replace the fuel filter. I am unsure what else to look for or test for. I am also unsure where to purchase the o-ring and any other parts needed. Any information would be helpful.

The more you explain it, the more I donít understand it. Mark Twain

That's your problem. A fuel line has come off the pump inside the tank. Good idea to replace all lines, 'o' rings etc. I replaced the stupid click 'r' clamp with a s.s. screw clamp.

Cheers

@compassman: I have everything you need for that job here in Duxbury, MA. I see you are in CT...I just delivered a bike to Southbridge. If you want to get the parts from me, send me a PM.

Deano is correct. The hose on the outlet hose of the fuel pump has popped off. This is a standard debacle.

Which model of 2007 Brutale do you have?

Circled here are the parts I would check/replace...

When doing a pump plate service, I check and replace as necessary the circled parts:

@theknurl: for me, Noel, mine have come off at the top of the fuel filter...on the longer hose.

Question for you, Noel, related to this guy's (Steve's) pump plate. He has the issue of the blind nuts spinning in the plastic of the tank. I was thinking a drop of isocyanate glue at the junction between the plastic and the ferrule.

Do you have a better solution?

My 9th insert spun..... but I got it out and used JB Weld on it.....
Don't see why crazy glue wouldn't work

Yes, my hose came off at the top. I have not yet tackled the three screw inserts that spun, that is a job for Sunday. Monday is a set of CV Axles for my wife's car.
