Oil filter and oil for F4RC.

I guess the engines are the same so this oil filter will fit my RC -17?

Which oil is the best for this bike? I'm thinking of Motul 300V 10W-40.

How many liters will go in the bike?(with filter change)

Thanks!

What does the manual recommend for the F4RC?

The 2013 manual recommends, as do all F4 4 cylinder manuals, 10W60'
Capacity is 3.5 kg which is just a tad under 3.5L.

Why would you risk damaging an expensive bike by not reading the manual and following the recommendations contained therein?

I haven't even gotten the bike yet. It's supposed to arrive to me this Sunday.

I'm asking - which means I don't know.

Is the filter right?

Ok, so 10W-60. I wonder if Motul is offering this?

Yes, It's read the manual time ; )

Fill the oil filter with oil when installing.

Us the oil rec in the manual.

For my F4 I wouldn't drop below the 10W 60 specified. The engines run hot and you need the 60 otherwise when the engine is hot the clutch starts getting grabby and the gears hard to change...How do I know ?

Nicholas, you have your priority twisted! First order of the day should be to install the racing kit and take a vid and share with the forum :-).

I concur with the posts above. My F4RR runs beautifully on 10W60, not so on 5w40 (don't ask how I know this, MV dealers sigh....). The manual says put in 3kg (approx 3 litres) of oil when refilling, but I found 2.85 litres will get you perfectly smack bang between the min and max line YMMV.

Who moved my cheese?

@NicholasF4: The manuals are available through Donsy at the top of the maintenance section. Check the part number for your bike in the parts manual.

I thought of installing the SC pipe, but I can't stand the terrible tail tidy that RG makes for it(it's the only one out there.

I think I will go with the Bodis full Ti exhaust.
