2000 f4 750 wont rev passed 10k

I got this bike recently knowing it had a broken injector. I got the bike home and put another set of throttle bodies I had laying around. the bike fires up and revs decently but if I hold the throttle open it kind of tapers off at 10k and wont go any higher. I think the other throttle bodies MIGHT be from a 1000 but im not sure how to tell. The injectors in the set I took off were red and the new ones are grey. Could this be my issue? there is no check engine light on or anything like that. Also it seems as though the alternator is not working.

Could be wrong size injector....but very possible clogged up old fuel filter. Does it blow any smoke whilst stuck at 10K? Like very rich mixture? Or just sit there with a flat sound from the exhaust?

I don't know the injector color codes and relevant models, but some other members do.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

Fuel injectors have notably different spray patterns and flow specs.

The 750 Series used IWP 048, RED BAND injectors from Magneti Marelli.

The Grey Band injectors are IWP 001.

AS Ed has mentioned, there have been many problems with improperly maintained fuel systems.
The first order of business should be to drain and remove your fuel tank, remove the fuel pump late and refurbish the lines and filters.

Fuel starvation does sound like the problem.

Of course, the IWP 001 Grey Band injectors flow 15 cc/min less fuel.........

So the tank is off my 1000 that runs fine (minus the newly developed rod knock) so i can only assume that the fuel pump and filter is not the issue. The tank that came with the bike has the quick disconnects broken which is why im using my other tank. I suppose ill have to wait til i get the replacement injector for the original throttlebodies. Thank you for the input.
