Brutale 1090 RR exhaust issue

I have recently imported a 2010 Brutale 1090 RR from Germany. To get Norwegian plates on the bike I have to get it approved by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA). However they claim the exhaust on the bike is not original and not matching the bike's homologation (e3*2002/24*0554*00). According to my knowledge and also stated by the MV dealer it is the original exhaust on the bike. The code on the exhaust on the bike is MV Agusta B2797 and B2650. The NPRA claim the code should be MV Agusta A3824 and 97880. Now they want me to take a noise test of the bike before they can approve it. The NPRA is not known for their flexibility,to put it that way..

I would appreciate if someone could confirm what is the code on the original exhaust on a 2010 Brutale 1090 RR and if someone could document what exhaust ties to the homologation e3*2002/24*0554*00.

Go to the Startwin website and you can see the parts diagrams with the official MV part numbers. Looks to me like they haven't looked for the correct model. 2010 was the first production for the 1090's, which is confusing for some.

Your exhaust should have the imprint of the e3 stuff on it. Mine does.

I was also thinking they (NPRA) might have mixed up something regarding the models. I will try to use the documentation I've got, including what you provided, to make them reconsider their decision. Anyway thank you for your feedback!

My stock exhaust from my 1090RR (2012) has B2797 ( top rear ), B2796 (bottom rear ) and B2650 ( headers + mid box ) all have e3 after them.

MV Agusta A3824 is earlier model , eg 750 from 2004 so is the 97880 number, might be 910 but definitely early B4.
Google those part numbers and you will see there is not an O2 sensors in the A3824 part.

Today the NPRA admitted they messed up back in 2010 when they "translated" the EU-homologation to a Norwegian homologation. It turned out that they had used old specifications, as pointed out by rsawkins, regarding the exhaust system. Based on my case they have now corrected this meaning that if someone import a 2010 Brutale 1090 RR, they will not get the same problems I ran into. Tomorrow I will pick up the plates and, if the weather allows, have my first ride on the Brutale!
