Getting HOT

2010 Gen 2 F1000R
I bought this bike in November at I topped up the expansion bottle when I got it. I've basically done 0 miles but today went and collected it from the MOT centre and left it running for a while. Steam all over after a while.

Any ideas what and how to chec?

If you say there's steam all over, best to remove fairings and see where it's coming from.
If however it coming from the overflow line, then you probably overfilled it, it's common knowledge around here that you shouldn't fill past the minimum mark with bike cold and in upright position.

It may or may not be related but on a bike of that age it is probably worth changing all of the hoses for new, SAMCO or similar. I also have a 2010 F4 and it was dripping fluid from one of the hoses so I replaced all and problem fixed.
